Sometimes I’m so busy talking about new products that I forget the oldie goldies that never leave my make-up bag. One such product is Rimmel’s Vinyl Gloss in Snog. I’ve owned and frequently re-purchased this since I was at least 20 *sobs at lost youth*

Isn’t it an awful name tho?…. I’m far from prudish but when someone asks me what gloss I’m wearing I literally shrivel at the thought of declaring that it is in fact “snog”.

Once you get past the shit name this really is a winner of a lip gloss, and quite unique in the current drugstore market. I’m all for a bit of glitter in my cosmetics but it’s really really overdone right now. This does have subtle shimmer but it is very finely milled.

On the lip you’ll notice the lovely rose hue and slick finish before any glitter.

It’s also very “snog” friendly in that it’s probably the least sticky lip gloss I’ve ever come across. The husband approves.

Of course the low level of stick means it really doesn’t last that long and re-application is frequent. Personally this hasn’t ever bothered me that much because it tastes so darn good too. Fruity but not sickly. Win

RRP £4.49 (but frequently on 3 for 2 offers or £1 off)

xox

Or rather Face of the Night…..

Yesterday evening Matt & I went out for an Indian meal with friends. It was another sunny scorcher in Northern Ireland so I was able to break the pins out for a change

The dress is from New Look (’08) and the last time I was able to fit into it was actually last summer on our honeymoon. So I’m chuffed to bits that it fits me again!

Belt is from Dorothy Perkins, sandals from Bertie (’08), so so comfy. Jewellery was a mix of New Look & Primark.

I didn’t have time, or tbh the inclination to tan up this week and so my subtle glow is all thanks to good aul Rimmel Sun Shimmer. I thought it turned out really well, no streaks and yet it removed the pastiness and left a nice little colour. Result!

Make-up was my LM Tinted Moisturizer and Illamsqua Enrapture on the eyes smoked out with a little Rimmel & MAC.

I lined the waterline in UD Lust and used black & gold glitter liner from Too Faced on the upper lash line.

Mascara was the 3 in 1 from Barry M and under the eyes I used a smidge of Benefit Erase Paste to brighten.

Cheeks were Benefit Coralista with No7 Peach Highlighter, and finally lips were Illasmasqua Brink with Stila Glaze in Cinnamon (my current fave lip combo).

Phew, thats a lot of slap!! Always go a bit overboard for a night out

Arrrrggghh I tried to stay away, really I did but when I saw everyone talking online about their summer foundation routines I just had to share the success I’m having at the moment! Its an illness!

If you’re in the UK you’ll know that right now we’re experiencing a gorgeous heat wave, and I don’t mean warm”ish”… it is scorching!!! (….for us)

This for me as a mummy means a lot of play time at the beach, where obviously I go makeup free, sand and foundation just don’t go
However the rest of the time I’m running to and from schools, doing errands, working… and I still want to feel the security in my face routine that the likes of Revlon Colorstay gives me, without feeling overly made up and caked in slap on a sunny day!

I have A LOT of foundation and a few tinted moisturisers but my absolute holy grail in this weather is Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moistuizer SPF 20 in Nude.

I use this in conjunction with her Foundation Primer, which sadly I am almost out of

IMO summer is the season for primer, I simply couldn’t do without it, it makes the difference between my face lasting eight hours, or sliding off within three, and thats from someone with not particularly oily skin. There are cheaper versions out there such as GOSH however I’ve only ever had heart break with these options, namely a chin full of spots, I’m guessing the silicone content is sky high. Not good.

I like this tinted moisturiser for one very important reason… “coverage”. I have always been put off in the past as offerings from Clinique & Revlon were so un-impressive in that particular department. I have quite noticeable dark circles and broken veins around my nose, which meant that I was having to go back in with a ton of concealer and in my opinion that completely defeated the purpose of a tinted moisturiser.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer is creamy and dare I say it, buildable. With cheaper offerings I’d say its about 80/20 in regards to the balance of moisturiser/ foundation. With this its about 50/50. However that said it is still not heavy or as stifling as a full on foundation would be. It offers the best of both worlds, a medium coverage that copes well with normal imperfections, yet light enough to let your skin breathe even on the hottest day.

I use the colour Nude which is inoffensive and blends in well with a light tan. The scent is much as you would expect from a daily moisturiser, lightly perfumed, however once on the face that smell is completely undetectable.

To set my Tinted Moisturiser I use Dior Pressed Powder in 002, although any pressed/ translucent/ loose powder will do. Rimmel Clear Complexion is great if you’re in the middle of a break out.

I think this is an all too often skipped step in summer foundation. Its makes the world of difference in finish and longevity. Without it you will inevitably get quite a bit of transfer from a tinted moisturiser base too! Don’t be afraid to pop your compact in your bag and top up to minimise shine throughout the day!

So there you have it, thats my summer skin routine for foundation at the moment, Laura Mercier products may be pricier but you really are paying for the quality. Nothing in her range has ever broke me out, and the results are always fabulous. Why not drop by your local counter and ask for a tester or trial?

xox

Eyebrows!

Most of us have them, they come in all colours, shapes and sizes… but do we all make the most of them?

From a purely scientific stance your eyebrows are there to help divert moisture (sweat….. yeeeuck) away from your delicate eyes. They are also one of our bodies most expressive features. After all we all know that raised eyebrows signal surprise…(a look I sport frequently)

From a beauty point of view though your eyebrows bring shape and definition to your face, a well groomed set of brows can do wonders for opening up the eyes or adding polish & drama.

I myself discovered the above at a very early age. Or should I say a very important time in my life, the teenage years
For a dark haired girl I was never particularly hairy, that was…. everywhere apart from my eyebrows. I gave Liam Gallagher a serious run for his money in the monobrow stakes. So I did what any sensible 14 year old would do….. I took a Bic razor and shaved them. Religiously. For about four years.

Bad idea. Very bad idea. Good in that my monobrow never reappeared, bad in that all the hair I religiously removed from my eyebrows never reappeared…. doh!

Cue over a decade later and I’m the girl with 2/3 of a left eyebrow and multiple bald patches on both. You’d think I’d have learnt my lesson… but even though I’ve swapped the razor for tweezers, I still get a little too pluck happy on a regular basis. I have no choice but to fill in my disaster brows.

Up until a few months ago I used a Rimmel pencil to do this, however as with a lot of brow pencils it had this annoying red undertone that simply looks unatural on me and could look a bit harsh. Not too bad in the Winter/ night time but really not flattering in this weather.

So while browsing in Boots one afternoon I came across this

Urban Decay Brow Box.

Look how pretty it is, I’m a total packaging whore. It was £12 at the time, however I’ve noticed since that its around £14-£15 so perhaps it was on special offer when I picked it up.

This ingenious little box contains a mirror, two shades of brow powder, an angled mini brush, some mini tweezers and a little pop out draw containing wax to set and hold the hairs. The little brush and tweezers are a bit fiddly but perfectly adequate for emergencies. Nothing worse than being out for the night, only to realise when you brushed your hair away from your eyes, you removed half your perfectly drawn on eyebrow with it! Ooops. Pop this in your bag and you have a fab brow first aid kit.

It comes in Beige Betty, Honey Pot, Ginger Snap (nice to see the red heads catered for) or Brown Sugar which I purchased. No red undertone at all (hooray!!) and dependant on the impact I’m going for I can use the two browns to custom mix the colour strength. I tend to coat my brush in the wax first and then pick up the colour as you avoid the fall out trap but there is no hard and fast rule, you can simply use the wax to coat your brows after if that tickles your fancy

It probably seems a bit pricey but I’ve hardly made a dent in the powders or wax and I use this daily. I can see this lasting me a full year no problem.

L-R; MAC 266, Ms Makeup

Brush wise if you had have asked me a month ago I’d have told you the MAC 266 was my one and only. However I purchased a Ms Makeup Angled Eyeliner in Boots and my affections have transferred.

Not only is it slightly thinner and stiffer than the 266 allowing more precise brow work but at about £5 its a complete bargain! Why not use your Boots points and see how fab it is yourself?!

xoxo

Rimmel London have released a new collection of Moisture Renew Lipsticks £5.99, Vinyl Glosses & Blushes £4.99 which is currently on 3 for 2 in Superdrug.

The lippy and gloss seems to revolve around the whole “bronze goddess” vibe thats floating about at the minute. Very summery, sexy and metallic.

The blushes are based around the seasons, ie Spring Flower.
Sorry if I’m being a bit vague but the Rimmel London website isn’t actually updated yet (poor show) and the blushes & lipsticks don’t even appear on it. Tsk tsk.

Spring Flower is a cute baby pink with mauve undertone. Although because its got a three toned gradient you can intensify this or play it down.

Out of the Lipsticks I got Rose Bikini 020 and Beach Babe 050.

I didn’t get any of the Vinyl Glosses as they have a sickly orange scent to them which reminds me of my Dove Gradual Tanner. Not something I want to keep reapplying on my lips! Its a pity really as I am a fan of the vinyl consistency, its not overly sticky.

L-R: Spring Flower, Beach Babe, Rose Bikini

The lipsticks are lovely though, I was so glad to see some shimmer! It’s definitely where my heart lies

They feel soft and moisturising on the lips, but nice and light, after all nobody wants to be wearing a heavy lippy in summer.

I’m think they’d look fab with the co-ordinating Vinyl Gloss over the top but even without they have that high shine and shimmer.

A new purse friendly favourite

Today’s nails are Rimmel London’s Professional Finish Nail Polish in 317 Coral Romance.

This is my first foray with the Pro range. The Maxi brush promises a mistake free application and tbh in regards to my fingernails I’d have to say that was pretty accurate. Application was quick & hassle free.

However toenails was another matter. Apart from my big toe my toenails are relatively petite and narrow, the Maxi brush was actually to fat for my last 2 toes and I had to turn it on its side to avoid painting the skin around the nails.

Formulation gets a big thumbs up from me though, I used 2 coats although one would have been sufficient. Each coat dried in super quick time, a welcome change from the China Glaze Polishes I’ve been using lately. I really just don’t have the time or patience to be sitting about waiting for polish to dry so I love this.

I have quite a few coral colours now but none of this intensity.

Minus Flash

With Flash

This is very much an orange red, tomato like under flash. It also has a lovely high shine once dry.

I’d like to try other colours in the range. Any suggestions ladies? xoxo

Some of you were asking on Twitter what I got while out on Tuesday doing birthday shopping, I’m always a bit reluctant to do the whole “haul” thing as I don’t want anyone to think I’m boasting, but I know myself how much I love seeing what other people buy.
Please bear in mind though that birthday money was used to purchase everything, I only have a Saturday job and would never normally spend this much on cosmetics etc. It’s so much easier to spend other peoples money

So with all my excuses for my extravagance out of the way… voila!

Clothing, two empire style tops (perfect for hiding tummy and accentuating the boobies), the bow one (<3 bows) is from H & M and the coral one is from Dunnes, I have the coral top also in blue and grey, I’m that type of person, like it? Buy it in all available colours. Just call me Elton…

A pearl and gold effect bow necklace from Miss Selfridge & cute silver bow diamante earrings from Peacocks

A Hello Kitty make-up bag from Claire’s, this is my third? If I see one I just have to buy it, its an illness

The Laura Ashley storage drawer set from WH Smith, this is to hide all my pigments, palettes and Cream Colour Bases in, thanks to Bubblegarm who alerted me to the fact it was reduced

MAC brushes, namely the 136, 187 & 227 and also a refill of Wedge eyeshadow and I picked up Brulé which I have yet to try out. Matt nearly had a coronary when he heard the brush prices, however good brushes really are an investment if you look after them, especially in my line of work

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink, yet to try but always hearing its better than one of my favourites, Fluidline, so going to test that theory out

Chanel Bronze Universel, again bought due to the hype surrounding the product at the moment and the fact that I am STILL searching for my holy grail in regards to bronzer

A refill of my fave solid cleanser Lush Baby Face and a small bottle of the Tea Tree Toner Water which my friend Kelly recommended

Lashes, lashes and lashes…. check out the Miss Eyelure range, I’ve been using these in college and they are foolproof if you’re not so good with the falsies, pre-glued and take 2 secs to apply, super sticky and stay put all night. The little corner ones are amazing and sooo flirty.

Two Faced Shadow Insurance, just to try something different, I’m an UDPP gal when it comes to eyeshadow bases, but I’m always willing to be proved wrong

And finally some Maybelline Volum’ Express Mascara that was recommended by Anne Marie (I think) and a Rimmel brow pencil, cheap and cheerful!

Let me know if you have any experience with the products I picked up, suggestions on use etc

My skin hasn’t been great, combination of a certain “budget” beauty product (more of that to come) and impending time of the month, however I made the effort to put a full face on today and really felt the benefit of it.

The sticky base I used was MAC’s Cream Colour Base in Fresh Morning (a mauve). I paired two of my fave Barry M Dazzle Dusts 34 & 89. No 89 is one of those Dazzle Dusts that you might overlook, I think it looks boring in the pot, however once swatched it comes alive, a beautiful minky lilac duochrome. In general Barry M’s description names destroy me, they rarely conjur up a good representation of the actual colour (in my mind anyway).

Top 34 Cherry, 89 Oyster Grey

Left 34 Cherry, 89 Oyster Grey

I am wearing MUFE HD Foundation in 117 which really is probably my fave foundation of the moment, MAC Select Cover Up to cover blemishes and Benefit Thrrrob, gives a lovely subtle colouring to the cheeks and grows on me every time I apply it.

Under the lower lash line I have a thin line of NYX Jumbo Pencil in French Fries just to warm the purple tones up, they can look quite cold on me otherwise.

Liquid Liner is Rimmel’s Exaggarate which I find increasingly difficult to work with, I find it hard to get an opaque enough coverage with this, but I like the applicator so put up with it.

Lipstick is MAC Angel, a firm favourite.

There have been a lot of videos discussing “Old School” make-up on YouTube lately and they have really entertained me. Mostly because while people are laughing about how thay can’t believe they wore Leichner foundation etc, I’m cringing at the reality that I STILL wear some of the things I did back in the early nineties.

I blame my mother, at my most influential stage we were slap bang in the 80′s, she sported bright blue eyeshadow and frosted lips. Somehow I’ve managed to curtail my love of electric blue shadow but I have to hold my hands up and admit I have a very guilty love of all lipsticks frosty. Especially pink.

The counters and stands are choc-a-bloc full of beautiful matt lipsticks, much more forgiving, much more wearable, but to me much more boring. My heart just soars at the sight of some shimmer and sparkle.

So when I swatched Rimmel London’s Moisture Renew Lipstick in 210 Fancy I got that tingle of pleasure, it was like a chance meeting with a long lost friend.

Minus Flash

With Flash

I’ve been happily sporting this like a Bananarama reject for the past few days and its only served to remind me, make-up (no matter the price tag) gives me so much pleasure. This range is currently £4.37 in Boots. It is extremely moisturising and lasts reasonably well. I don’t like anything thats lasts TOO well as applying and re-applying lip products throughout the day is something I actually enjoy

What’s your guilty pleasure “Old School” make-up????

I have a drawer for all the mascara I test and use, it’s not a big drawer and every so often I like to be ruthless and bin the majority to make room for the new bigger and better mascaras that are emerging (too few & far between lately!).

The other more obvious and less frugal reason for binning what looks like perfectly good product is the use by date. This is important for every cosmetic product but it is particularly so for mascara, they are a breeding ground like no other for bacteria, and these bacteria can cause very very nasty infections within the eyes. I don’t need to tell anyone how precious your sight is!
The manufacturers are obliged to give you a guideline in regards to how long the product will last once opened, you’re looking for a pot with a little open lid as pictured below on Rimmel’s Sexy Curves Mascara. The number inside the pot is the number of months the product is good for after opening.

Rimmel’s time period is extremely optimistic IMO, most mascaras tend to read good for 6 months, a few 3. The rule for my own mascara is generally 3-4 months, by which stage if I love it its finished anyway or if its not I don’t like it enough to keep it.

In regards to mascara I have to use on other people, I keep that for 1 month and then dispose of regardless of what amount is left. I always use disposable wands which are cheap to buy but avoid double dipping and product contamination. Even if you’re not a pro make-up artist, but like to practice looks on friends & family you should get yourself some wands and get into the habit. Your bessie mate won’t thank you for conjunctivitis :S

So what did I throw out today then?

MAC Plush Lash – Messy wand, too much like hard work for me

Enormous Lash – Completely done, won’t be re-purchasing, vaseline is giving the same effects

L’Oreal Double Extension Waterproof – horrible formula, dried up within a few weeks

NARS Mascara Black Orchid – Yawn, boring boring boring and horrid smell

Bourjois Volume & Glamour – Nasty over-powering paint type smell which made eyes water

Bourjois Liner Effect – what a crock of sh*t, review here

No7 Lash 360˚- Colour more dark grey than black, formulation dry, never going to get used up

So what have you binned recenty? Or are you one of these people that has drawers of things they don’t use but are convinced they might need some day? xox

Yes, thats right folks, another mascara…. wouldn’t be like me eh?!!

Boots No7 Lash 360˚ RRP £11.26

The driving force behind this purchase was actually panacea81, she was using it on YouTube a while back and I homed in on the unusual looking wand. It is quite pricey but I used the No7 £5 off voucher. I got it just before Christmas, but times must be tough, as they are STILL running the £5 off promo.

Marketing material for this mascara promises “Up to 7 x more volume with No7′s breakthrough new lash 360 mascara”. I bought it in Black, the only other colour available is Brown/ Black.

This is a GOOD mascara, not great but good. There is no doubt in my mind that this macara gives a lengthening effect, as you can see from the pic its really very impressive in that department, however it is marketed as a volumising mascara? I don’t feel it adds volume at all. It does however curl the lashes quite effectively. I don’t use eyelash curlers, simply because my eyelashes are already poor and I want to avoid any damage to what I do have.

Left Eye: Lash 360˚, Right Eye: No Mascara

So this mascara does two things extremely well that it isn’t meant to do, and yet the one thing it IS supposed to do, it doesn’t do… anyone confused? I know I am :S

The brush is really a very good design, get it right into the base and wiggle it through back and forth, coverage would be good IF the actual mascara formula was just slightly wetter. Unfortunately it isn’t. This is a real bug bear with me in regards to mascara. Either they are too dry and coating the lashes is an arduous task, or they are too wet and you get transfer onto the skin if you look up etc.

My other problem is the colour, Black, not Blackest Black, not Carbon Black, just plain ole Black. I’m sorry but for those people that say Black is Black, thats rubbish. I’ve been spoilt with rich kohl pigmented mascaras lately. They give a dense glam black finish. This is simpy a dull black, when swatched on my hand beside L’Oreal Voluminous it looks positively grey.

In summary, this is a well designed mascara wand that doesn’t quite have the formula to compliment it. IMO it certainly doesn’t warrant the price tag, there are much better mascaras out there that curl and lengthen for a fraction of the cost ie: Rimmel London’s Sexy Curves.

Hope this is helpful if you have been considering this mascara xox

Yee Haaaaa!! I am feeling thoroughly spoilt on the make-up front, as late yesterday afternoon my second NYX haul arrived courtesy of Cherry Culture

From date of shipping it took 10 days to reach me, not as quite as fast as Coastal Scents, but still pretty damn quick for international delivery, especially at this time of year. Everything was packed really well, bubble wrap, surrounded by tissue. On top was a free Cherry Culture own brand lip gloss (cute idea, tastes gross, think plastic)

So here it is….

Lets take a closer look at what I got….

Six Eyeshadow Trio’s $4.00 each (£2.63 each)

Anti Diva

Lake Moss

White/ Grey/ Black

Aloha/ Mink Brown/ Deep Bronze

Copper/ Rust/ Bronze

Golden/ Rust/ Walnut Bronze

1 Tinted Lip Spa in Jewel $4.00 (£2.63)

1 Jumbo Lip Pencil in Narcisse $3.00 (£1.97)

1 Doll Eye Mascara – Long Lash Version Extreme Black $5.50 (£3.62)

2 Ultra Pearl Mania Pigments $1.25 each (£0.82p each)

Nude

Rust

Initial thoughts on all products are good, yes the trio shadow formulations are different, but certainly not terrible. They just lack the creaminess of the singles, pigmentation is far from poor though, so I think some internet critics have been overly harsh here.

The Jumbo Lip Pencil is devine, Narcisse is a deep plummy colour, perfect for this time of year. The formulation is fabulously smooth and I much prefer it to the like of Benefit’s Color Plump, which is grainy in comparison. I will definitely be looking a few more of these!

The mascara was a impulse add on when I placed the order, I didn’t expect it to be ground breaking, and its not but actually it is really good at giving curl to my lashes. However the formulation is a bit clumpy which means a lot more work with the wand to get each lash looking smooth. Can I be bothered?….

My favourite items from this haul hands down are the Ultra Pearl Mania pigments. What a complete bargain. Sure, the bullets are small, but don’t under-estimate the colour pay off in this stuff. A little, and I mean a little, goes a very long way. I’ve quickly put some on in the picture below to give you an idea of what to expect in regards to colour. Nude is on the inner third and under the lower lash line. Mascara is Rimmel London’s Sexy Curves.

Altogether my order value was $39.00 (£25.59)
Shipping was $9.95 (£6.53)
I did not incur any customs charges as the box was labelled as a gift.

All in all, even with shipping, it is far cheaper to buy NYX from the USA.
In the UK we pay twice the price for the trio’s. In fact we pay double for almost all NYX cosmetics.
All I can say, is in the future my NYX hauls will be bought at Cherry Culture and not All Wellan Good! I’m happy to wait the 10 days and pocket the difference

A few weeks back I entered a competition at Rimmel London Online to be in with a chance of receiving one of 10,000 tubes of their new Sexy Curves Mascara. And I won!!! A lovely full size tube in Black.

As you might already know I purchased a tube of this very mascara 2 weeks ago and I really really like it. Now I don’t have to re-purchase for at least another couple of months, bonus!!

If you haven’t already tried Sexy Curves I would honestly give it a go. My friend Karen Quinn also agrees that the wand is great at seperating and curling the lashes. Totally clump free too

I often wondered if anyone actually won these competitions, now I know they do! Worth a go girls, after all its FREE!!! (love free) xox

Best Freebie in an absolute age IMO.
Spend £10 on any Rimmel London products exclusively at Boots The Chemist and recieve this gorgeous Colour Palette FREE!!!!

All too often I think free gifts with purchase are a bit rubbish. Either they are tester size and provide little more than one application, or else the colours are something you would never wear.

Rimmel I salute you, this palette is funky and excellently executed. The casing itself is a heavy solid black shiny plastic (easily wiped). Inside the lid is a full size mirror.

NB: Colours are more vibrant in real life

The palette itself consists of 6 eyeshadows, all very wearable colours. A gorgeous sparkly pink, lilac, sparkly sugar brown, turquoise, light grey and a dark grey. 3 shades of blush ranging from a baby pink to a damson wine, placed against each other to give a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick effect. 4 lipglosses, a bright red, shimmer nude, gold and bronze.

Obviously the foam applicators suck but all in all there is easily £25 of Rimmel product in this palette.

Bargaintastic xox

Party season is upon us and its a rare chance to break out the glitter with a vengeance, plaster on the eyeliner, and generally teeter on the thin line (of taste) between glamourista/ strictly come dancing contestant/ drag queen!

I adore silvers and greys but I think they are really hard to wear, especially with my pale skin. Adding glitter to the mix is a must for me, and also a rosy blush, essential if I am to avoid looking like an ice queen.

Although I’m just wearing lip balm above, if I was wearing this look out on the works Christmas do etc I’d wear a bold red lipstick/ gloss with the obligatory falsies (thats lashes, not boobs).

I know its “apparently” a big no no to accentuate both eyes and lips in one look, but I think thats a very boring 21st century rule that I like to break whenever possible. Certainly there are times when playing one up against the other works better but Christmas is NOT that time.

The packaging swung this purchase, a gorgeous metallic purple curved bottle. I think Rimmel’s new branding is really funky and is totally hitting the mark for me.

The wand is very flexible and the three curves are supposed to enhance curl, seperate lashes and add volume.

I’ll reserve judgement until the end of the week and get back to you with my findings

Normal RRP will be £7.99 but the introductory price is £5.99

I have done a look today for the upcoming Christmas party season. It is quite daring and not for everyone, but I like to have fun with make-up and especially love green against my eyes. I have used a mixture of products, but most are very inexpensive and available from Superdrug or Boots.

All the coloured pigments I used were from Barry M, Superdrug is currently running a promotion of 3 Dazzledusts for £10 which is great value. I covered my lid with MAC paint in Bare Canvas to give a nice sticky base for the pigment. Then using homemade mixing medium (1 part glycerin to 3 parts water) I made a nice paste of each pigment. Far far easier to work with and no annoying fall out. Yay!!

I then took it a bit further, couldn’t resist!
I added a splash of red to the corners to make the look really young & fun
Please excuse the eyebrows, I have ruined my tweezers by using them to perform a number of non tweezer related jobs (ie DIY things that actually required pliers). Ooops

Eyes

MAC Paint in Bare Canvas (all over eye to prep)

Barry M Dazzle Dust in Emerald 72 (lid & up into crease)

Barry M Dazzle Dust in Lime 75 (inner third of lid)

Barry M Dazzle Dust in Cherry Red 84 (outer third of lid)

I took inspiration for my eye make-up today from MakeupByTiffanyD (You Tube). First I prepped my lids with MAC’s Paint Pot in Painterly. The main lid colours are MAC’s Mineralize Eyeshadow Duo in Illusionary/ Burning Ambition. With MAC’s Mylar on the brow bone.

I absolutely love this look, the colours are so warm and perfect for brown/ green eyes. You could go a lot heavier with this look to take you into the evening, but I think its nice like this, where when your eyes are fully open it looks quite neutral and pretty and yet when you glance down, people get a flash of the gorgeous shading and shimmer.
