Ashley, a fellow student was using me as her model (I prefer the term guinea pig) for the 1920′s shoot this evening and I think its fair to say that we are improving vastly as the weeks go by.

The photographs for our portfolios are taken by Mark Emerson who is ridiculously patient and kind (ie lies) when it comes to telling us all how great it is looking from behind the lens.

Below are a few I took myself when I got home, poutastic!!
@cimota took a bit of a liking to the vixen coloured lippy….he still can’t get it off his beard

As I mentioned earlier it was first round practice for 1920′s style make-up.
The shoot will be done in Black & White so its heavy on the colour & contouring in order to give depth and shade. I’m really looking forward to seeing this one with all the props for the shoot, fur wrap, finger curls and a long cigarette holder. Classic.

I look very serious here but we have so much fun. My classmate was telling me to look sad and we kept cracking up with laughter every 5 seconds!

Homework for this week is to perfect the precise cupids bow, much harder than I initially thought it would be, but hell, I love a challenge xox

I had my job interview yesterday for a MUA position within one of Belfast’s biggest department stores. It was at 4pm and I arrived with ten minutes or so to spare. Felt cool, calm and collected, until we all sat down (man and woman on panel), and then I lost all ability to a) create saliva and b) act cool.

I am not normally the type of person to be phased by interviews and have a “what will be, will be” attitude towards them. I think the problem is that this job is perfect for me and as they showed me around and told me what I would be doing on a daily basis I allowed myself to dream it was a done deal… ooops

They seemed to like me (lets be honest, how do you ever REALLY know) and I think it went reasonably well, I’m sure they make allowances for nerves, but I won’t know anything until after the closing date which is December 2nd. So for now I just have to sit tight and cross my fingers. If I do get it I will be sent to London for 4 days intensive training, all expenses paid. Bonus!

Tonight I have my course at college, we are starting our 1920′s make-up look, so no doubt I’ll post a practice of that in the next few days. We also get to see and pick out the best of our bridal photo shoot for our portfolios. I’m hoping I have at least one really super pic, and I’ll be happy xox
