Hi… remember me?

I’ve turned into one of those bloggers that we all love to hate. Y’know… the ones that never blog… gah!

I have a good excuse though (we always do…) because I’ve been on holiday!!

The family and I went on a Royal Caribbean Cruise of the Italian Mediterranean …. well we actually went to France, Spain and Portugal too… so perhaps not the best cruise title ever. Anyway I digress, it was quite simply fabulous (well almost, came back to find the Tedster’s leg had been broken.. but that’s a whole other blog post) in that we spent long lazy days cruising the beautiful blues seas and many a relaxing stroll around gorgeous cities such as Nice, Rome and Lisbon to name but a few.

ville franche

That’s what I adore about cruising. You get to see so many countries on one trip, and we all know that variety is the spice of life, don’t we ;)

It’s like a little taster of all these undiscovered cities and ports. From the one day we spent in Nice, we have already decided that we’d like to spend a fortnight on the French Riviera, which is pretty cool :)

Thanks to each and every one of you who have emailed me over the past month or so. I haven’t replied to anyone yet but I fully intend to. I’m not ignoring you at all, I was simply taking an all-encompassing break from everything online.

Why?

To be plain, I got really sick of the poisonous bitchy (male & female) backstabbers on Twitter, YouTube, Blogger…. etc. I’m really not one to let these things get on top of me, but I think everyone has their limits and I totally met mine and then some. Anyone ever notice how it’s always the fugly ones that really mouth off? Jealousy really IS a bitch.

I also found that all those meaningless twerps sucked a lot of precious time out of the day. You know how it is. You find yourself defending your opinion, or god forbid somebody elses and next thing you know you’re fending off abuse from half of County Tyrone/ the beauty community/ Liverpool….

I’m half joking here..

Anyway, I’m 31 years old. My time is precious.. cos y’know I’ve only got like 9 years of sex left in me (according to teenagers surveyed on Ch4 Sex Education show)… so I’m spending my time more wisely ;)

I’m spending quality time with my family and my true friends. I’m cooking, I’m eating out, I’m shopping, I’m hitting the cinema. I’m trying new things like Pilates and anti-wrinkle eye creams! I’m putting the wheels of a new business into action and carving a secure future for ourselves and our children.

I’m living life, the way I want to! Make sure you do too!

The hubby and I might head down to Cork and Kerry for a week in September but a return to dirty student life since last September has had a dampening effect :) Mind you I turn 30 in three weeks so that is something to look forward to!

Sounds fab! We were just discussing Kerry. I want to see the dolphin!

I was so funny about turning 30, but have to tbh once I was finally there I loved it. There's this real kind of freedom in not being a 20 something anymore. People always said I'd be more comfortable with myself in my 30s and that is definitely true. Hope you have a great time and get spoiled rotten! xx

Thanks! I'll have to have a sift through our phones and see if there is anything decent. Tbh I rarely thought about taking pics, other than food. Matt and I have this weird obsession with snapping everyone's eats! LOL xx

I noticed you'd gone from Twitter the other day, was worried about you, and Teddy (bf follows Matt and was telling me about the poor little mite – not good). So glad you all enjoyed your trip, it sounds glorious :)

Hope you stick around on your blog, I love reading about what you've been up to, and would hate to lose contact completely!

Glad you 're back!!!

I noticed the twitter thing, and couldnt figure out what had happened…! But I 've been hitting your blog page quite often, so I knew you weren't completely gone…! :)

Twitter is weird… it's like, sometimes you have to be careful of how you word things… but I just focus more on the positivity and the few people that I know I can trust…!

Gonna miss your tweets though!!!

Your cruise sounds like heaven btw, I neeeeed the sea and the sun, like yesterday!!! lol!

xx

Hey Arlene, welcome home!!! I'm really glad you are back blogging-I was worried that something had happened to you, as you blog so regularly. I completly understand why you needed a break though. While blogging is fun, it can take a up a good bit of time and people leaving nasty comments really puts a dampner on it.

Your cruise sounds lovely. I've always wanted to visit lots of cities and towns around the Med but thought inter-railing was the only option. Had never thought of cruise…. :-)

It's lovely to have you back!!!

So child friendly, at least this one was. I think there are some that aren't though. Cabaret is fab, you're honestly spoilt for choice with things to do. I'll send you an email with more details and pics xxxx

Hello lovey, glad to see you had a great time on holiday and that there wasn't anything more sinister behind your twitter disappearance (I was worried!).

I must say, one of the major bonus points to being totally unknown in the beauty community is that no one gives you any shit! Sorry people were being tossers though, there's really no need!

Sorry to hear about Teddy's leg, poor little dude! I hope he's on the mend! xx
