While perusing the Daily Fail this morning I came across THIS article, in which my favourite pint sized pop princess attributed her line free face to Ponds Cold Cream.

My immediate thoughts on reading this were:

LOL

Nothing to do with regular Botox injected all over your face then?

however they were promptly followed by an altogether darker thought….

Where can I get me some of this shit RIGHT THIS SECOND?!

Answer – The Cheapy Chemist round the corner! WIN!

Now I’m not stupid, I mean I KNOW that the Minogue sisters love themselves a bit of botox BUT I am also a crazy anti-ageing obsessed 31 year old…. so that tiny nagging doubt that says “but what if it really IS the Ponds making her look amazing for her age” completely won out.

And if it’s actually just shite then I’ve only wasted £4.98, and let me tell you I’ve wasted a shedload more wonga than that on useless Origins skincare (to name but one over-hyped brand).

Who’s joining me in a Ponds purchase? ;)

I'd be a wee bit sceptical that it's all just the cream, but I bet it helps. I swear by Nivea cream and savlon myself :)

Haha I'm a tad "sceptical" myself ;)

Very jealous of your ability to use Nivea, my Mum uses it and I adore the smell. Sadly it breaks me out hrrmph!

Aw, that's a shame because it's the best moisturiser I've ever used and it is so cheap! I bet Pond's is much the same, and definitely worth a try. Lots of people thinking the same as you – apparently sales are up by 120% since Kylie mentioned it. Here, I did mean it about Savlon though – I alternate between that and moisturiser in the cold weather and it stops my skin from getting chapped and it's good for getting rid of blemishes :)

I'm a tad sceptial too, but I'm nearly 27 and the blinkin' crows' feet are already at me!

Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't been impressed with Origins.

As soon as I stopped using fancy skincare (from the companies I worked for!) and went to cold cream, original pink Olay, jojoba oil and rosewater my skin was so much happier.

Keeping my skin really clean, well moisturised and out of the sun has worked wonders for me along with religious use of eyecream since 18 and always wearing sunglasses. I'm pretty much line free despite all the fags over the years. I hope my lungs look as good!

My Mum got quite deep crows feet in her thirties, but beyond that she's weathered well, so I'm hoping that I'll follow a similar ageing pattern.

My downfall is sun on the face. I always wear a hat on sunny days but I'm addicted to the rays on my face. I know its ageing but I swear it's like crack to me

For me the saviour is giant sunglasses. Yes, they make me look like a bug eyed old lady, but my crows feet are nil. I think it's a good compromise for feeling the sun on your face, but not suffering for it!

I'm intrigued. Think if I spot this out and about, I will pick it up to try it out. Will you do a follow up post Arlene, telling us how you get on? Nikky,is the pink Olay cream good for dry skin???

I will indeed. Have used both products once now and no immediate reaction so fingers crossed that continues x

Alethea, because I use it the pink Olay in conjunction with cleansing with oil and a night cream, I find it's great for dry skin during the day. (Although I'm using another Olay one right now that has SPF).

I don't think it's enough on its own for dry skin though.

Hee hee! :D I've used Pond's before, it was fine but didn't seem to do anything different from any other moisuriser. I don't think i liked the smell.

I use Ponds Cold Cream as a cleanser!

I massage a thick layer all over my face, the remove it with a face flannel as hot as I can stand. Then I use a sweep of toner and a night cream at night, but not too heavy a one. I've been using Soap & Glory Night in Shining Armour recently.

I don't use Ponds as a moisturiser without removing it as I find it a bit too heavy. Also I think it's cheaper than £4.98 at Boots, I'm sure I only pay £3.99!

I love the Soap and Glory range, but never tried that one *adds to shopping list*.

I'm afraid I have to admit defeat with the Ponds, a chin of angry spots disagrees with its super powers! Booo :( xx
