Well….. It’s October… and did I lose a stone in September? Did I heck!

I did however lose 2 full inches off my waistline thanks to my new love of running :D
Yes, I’m addicted. I’ve found my exercise. Four weeks ago I could barely run 45 seconds without feeling like I was gonna to die, and now I can run 15 minutes!!!! and feel amazing to boot.

I’m still using the same iPhone application “Get Running”, and I think this has been key to my success. It focuses on gradually building up time and stamina. It doesn’t even look at distance (until the very end).
Once I’m running 25 – 30 minutes comfortably, then and only then will I start thinking about time and mileage together.

So….. all this running means a lot more showering!!

Not that I didn’t shower before (that would be gross)…. but whereas previously I could have maybe got away with washing my hair every other day, after running that’s NOT an option. I didn’t realise I could actually produce sweat until I started running, but produce it I can, and by the bucketload…… Washing my hair daily is now a necessity.

With more hair washing, comes more hair drying, and this is extremely damaging at the best of times, never mind daily. I also find that my hair loses body quicker the more often it is washed. So I started to look for leave in products. Things I could use to add texture and allow me to leave it to dry naturally.
I’m rotating use of a few at the moment but this is my current favourite:

“Lee Stafford Beach Babe”

A Sea Salt Spray with a Pro Mineral Complex & 26 Minerals

beachbabe

I simply apply a generous spritz of this all over lightly towel dried hair and leave to dry. It smells utterly amazing, as with all of the Lee Stafford range. Musky and very sexy, the husband approves!

Beachbabe2

It is slightly sticky, but as its drying I run my fingers through it every so often to separate. My hair is naturally poker straight but it adds volume and a slight wave throughout. This is low maintenance Sunday hair at its best! :)

I got it in Boots on a 3 for 2 Promotion or you can buy it for £5.99 but it’s definitely worth it. Check it out xox

I will try that! I too have to wash hair daily and its a pain in the butt with the drying and straightening! I have tried ghd, bumble and bumble (expensive) and gosh sea salt spray none of which impressed me very much!

Well done with the running! I love it too and have just started

First up, I do approve of Matt's choice of book!

So is this running all on the tread machine, or out in the real world?

@Alan lol I have no idea what he's reading but he finished last night and I get the impression he really enjoyed it.

Mostly pounding the "real world" pavements. The treadmill is just for days (or sometimes weeks) when Matt is away with work. Gives me more flexiblity :)

Much prefer outside running but sometimes life gets in the way!

@lizzclare I sold my GHDs, it was ridiculous that I was straightening (and damaging) my already straight hair. Doh!

Well done you with the running. I went out on Sunday as you know and was supposed to go out today, but as the sore throat I had over the weekend has now become a whole other level of nasty. I don't think the burning chest pain helped me unfortunately. On top of that, I ran in normal trainers and now have some pretty lethal pain in the arch of my right foot, so I need to sort myself out proper runners if I'm going to stick with it. For now though, I just want to feel human again!

I've used a few bits from the Lee Stafford range and quite liked them. I bought a hairbrush a couple of years ago and it fell apart after I'd used it twice. I emailed them and they sent me an apology letter, a replacement of the brush that broke, a mini handbag size brush (with a mirror on the back, very handy) and some shampoo and conditioner too. Its possibly the best customer service I've ever had – I'd have been happy with a replacement brush!

@Beth God love you!! You've had a run of nasty colds the past few months. Need to get yourself built back up. I swear by an old tonic drink they give to the elderly or people after ops. "Floradix" You should be able to get it in Boots. Rocks!

Running wise, when you're ready I would definitely recommend getting fitted for proper trainers. I know you have issues with your arches and tendons from wearing so many sexy high heels :D

Love your Lee Stafford Customer Service experience, thats testament indeed to a company with integrity xxx

Hi Kelly, I sticking to the #getrunning app but on the days went I'm meant to be resting I'm still running a bit but at my own pace. I find it really addictive, definitely get a natural high off it :) xox
