Hi Guys,

A little update on the competition. Sadly someone took the liberty of posting the link to my comp up on the site moneysavingexpert.com at 10.10pm last night and I have literally been spamed with entries. This has completely devalued the competiton and what I was trying to do, share the Barry M love with “genuine” makeup lovers. I have therefore deleted everyone without a shared web address who applied after this time and will be pulling the competiton winner this morning from the entries already received. Thank you to everyone who has applied in good faith xxxx

Being the Barry M fan I am, it was always going to be likely that I would already have dupes of a number of the products in the Goodie bag.

It seems only appropriate then to share the love and give one lucky reader a chance to win this little stack of lovelies, all cosmetics are brand new and sealed :)

Goodies

The winner will receive;

  • Exclusive Barry M Skinny Tee in Size Medium
  • Barry M Cosmetics Make-up Bag
  • Mint Green Nail Polish
  • Bright Purple Nail Polish
  • Cerise Pink Lip Paint
  • Punky Pink Lip Paint
  • Dazzle Dusts in Gold, Dark Chocolate & Petrol Black

The rules for this are simple, entry is open to anyone of any age, from any country who has a beauty/ fashion blog.

The only people excluded from entering are fellow Barry M VIP Bloggers. In other words, if you were at the event, move along please!! :)

One entry per person, just leave a comment telling me you would like to be entered below before Friday 29th May 2009 at 6pm GMT. Winner will be picked using a random number generator and announced shortly after.

Good Luck xoxox

Pick me, pick me!

I'd like to be entered please :)

Started reading your blog recently…trying to get a bit more sophisticated with my make up and your blog's really enjoyable :) Currently in the middle of a search for my perfect foundation (I'm ghostly pale…) so wish me luck!

dressjunkie May 26, 2009 at 8:11 pm

I'm really glad you're enjoying it :)

Without a touch of fake tan I am unbelievably pale myself. MAC really doesn't cater well for the porcelain people, High End I'd take a look at Illamasqua or Clinique Super Balanced is very good in the paler shades, drugstore end Maybelline also have a superb colour choice. xx

Sarah May 26, 2009 at 8:58 pm

Ooh I love Barry M ^_^

Can I be entered? =)

I stumbled acoss your Twitter page and cannot believe I never knew your blog existed! I'm 19 and love make-up but very scared about applying it. I plan to experiment a bit more and take risks. Just found out how to do smokey eyes so please enter me in the competion 'cause I really want to have smokey eyes and bright nails!

dressjunkie May 26, 2009 at 11:58 pm

I'm just glad you've found me now :)

Make-up is defintely something to have fun with, especially at 19 when you can get away with a lot more :)

Practice makes perfect ;) xox

I hope so! And I'll be keeping an eye on your blog from now on! I'm also following you on Twitter. :) I have mastered the art of applying foundation. I'm really pale and found it really hard to get one to match my skin. But I got a nice cheap-ish one in the Body Shop. I have quite small eyes so I wanna bring them out with eyeshadow. Any tips? My next mission is to find out the flick with liquid eyeliner. I totally ♥ that look! xxx

dressjunkie May 27, 2009 at 12:24 am

For smaller eyes you'll want to keep your lower waterline clean or else line with a white eye liner (Barry M actually do a good one). If you want to wear a smokey eye you can line just under your lower lashes but only take it from your outer corner to just over half way in. If you take it right into the inner corner of your eye you will narrow and close them up again. Keep shadow light and reflective in the inner third of your lid, and concentrate darker colours to the outer crease and smoke them in lightly. Always remember to curl your eyelashes which will again give you the illusion of bigger eyes ;)

For the liner flick I'd recommend leaving the Liquid Liner out until you get more confident as its not a very forgiving formula to work with. Get yourself a black kohl pencil and practice with that. Its easy to use a cotton bud to remove mistakes with pencil, or you can simply draw the line and smudge it out which is softer and hides little slip ups :) xx

Sharon May 27, 2009 at 12:44 am

Thanks so much for the tips. I'll give them a go and let you know how I get on. :D Anywyas I better get my beauty sleep! Don't forget to enter me in the competion! xx

Elizabeth May 27, 2009 at 10:28 am

Hi Arlene, please enter me :)

Karen May 27, 2009 at 10:33 am

Can you enter me in please Arlene? Thanks :)

Lucy May 27, 2009 at 11:00 am

Thanks for the pale foundation tips :) I'm really looking forward to trying the Illamasqua range but am trying to hold out until Cardiff gets a counter in Debenhams (around early June, I think) rather than buying online and then being stuck with something that doesn't suit me.

Ellie May 27, 2009 at 11:20 am

Hey! Please enter me :)

Also I hope that you are feeling better now!

xx

dressjunkie May 27, 2009 at 11:22 am

Good idea Lucy! Never ever buy foundation online! Although tbh I was matched incorrectly at Illamasqua when I first went. Trust your own judgement, you know what suits you best. Don't be afraid to say if you think its too yellow based etc xxx

Rachel May 27, 2009 at 4:06 pm

Enter me please!

Thank you
