Unlucky for some…..

Not for me it seems, as I lost 0.5lbs today. Weight Loss so far 16lbs.
Not a huge amount I realise but pretty damn impressive considering the absolute diet hell that was the Easter Holidays.

It was a living chocolatey nightmare, yummy eggs everywhere, and I’m not sure whether my paranoia just reached new heady heights, or if its simply a coincidence that all the eggs the children received were my favourites. Mini Eggs, Creme Eggs, Maltesers, Buttons *drool*.

Then there was the ice-cream, copious amounts of the stuff, daily. I didn’t want to be a spoilsport, so of course to make others feel better I forced several 99′s down my neck……. (thats my excuse and I’m sticking to it).
My eldest also couldn’t finish half his Candy Floss and there wasn’t a bin in sight. So with litter dropping carrying a hefty penalty and Candy Floss not being something you can fold into your pocket for later it was down to me to dispose of it……. nom

The weight loss disaster hit a peak at my mother’s house, and the feast that was Easter Sunday Dinner. At some point (many years ago) it appears my mother must have taken a blow to the head, its the only logical reason I can think to explain why she cooks army sized portions for a family of 4.
Out the plate came, if it was patterned it was impossible to tell, potatoes, gravy, stuffing, veg, chicken simply covered every available mm.

Totally impossible to actually point a meal like that, but you can guess it ain’t pretty. It’s quite laughable then that for afters she had bought in specially a little Weightwatchers dessert for me. Bless her. She didn’t realise that the dinner had completely negated the need for a “diet” dessert, as I had already consumed my daily quota of points for the entire week in the previous 20 minutes. Sigh.

At this point I was feeling more than a little ill, and wanted to slope off to the privacy of my home where I could down half a bottle of Gaviscon or all else failing stick a pin in myself, but no, the tea came out, and in Northern Ireland tea is never served alone. Its tea and a “wee” bun, or tea and a “wee biscuit”. Nightmare.

So here I am 3 days later, still feeling full and never wanting to see a potato again, ever. I also have a raft of spots thanks to the small amount of chocolate I did comsume.
Thank god, literally, that Easter only comes once a year. Don’t get me wrong, the time with family and the break from routine is brilliant but the sheer over-indulgence and general pigging out I can happily forgo!
Today is a fresh start!

How’s everyone else getting on?

Oh Easter weekend was a mare for me too, still too raw to blog about it! I'm lucky that due to the bank holiday I didn't have my weigh-in! Not losing in your first week would be pretty bad lol.

But go you, losing anything over that holiday no matter how small is a miracle!

Well I guess no-one could argue that WW doesn't work. Easter was incredibley demotivating though, have to remind myself how far I've come though, you're right :)

Gonna up my exercise again and try and get a little boost. Are you still gyming it Mrs M? xxx

Still gymming it, 3 weeks into a 16 week program but I am convinced I am destined to be this weight forever….

You've probably just hit a wee plateau, and then muscle does weigh more than fat, I'm sure in another few weeks you'll start to see a noticeable loss again! That said I wouldn't mind staying the weight I am now if I was toned and tight. I just don't have the patience or energy for the workouts that would require tho! xx

Count yourself lucky Gemma, I had a sneaky peek through the calendar and the way my weigh ins fall it means our class is always on. No fair!!!

Have you tried the Fast Start programme yet out of your binder? You can't go wrong with that for some extra pounds off xx

16 lbs in total? That's amazing! I could do with a leaf out of your book…that's brilliant! I'd be telling total strangers out of pride at my achievement!

I just went straight to the full plan, worked out what points I was allowed etc. It does seem to be doing the trick to be honest, before Easter sabotaged me I found the first week pretty good. Snacking on good things and portion control to the max! Amazed at how much I used to eat when I began weighing portions out :O

Normal service resumes this week though :)

Wow you are doing brilliant, well done! I did WW a few years ago and managed to lose nearly 3 stone and get down to my goal weight. But over the last 2 years I've gradually put on 1 and a half stone. So I've decided to start WW again. I just find it so hard to start pointing again.

I've tried just trying to eat healthy and go to the gym but it never really worked that well, so back to WW it is.

If you don't mind could you do a quick post just saying the kind of things you eat, to help me get back into the swing of it.

Thanks and well done, keep going.
