Happy Mother’s Day to all my fellow mums and mothers to be. I hope you are all being thoroughly spoilt by your loved ones and enjoying the day of pampering
Mine is off to a great start, I have beautiful cards, a duo of boiled eggs & soldiers breakfast, the Sunday paper and a new lipstick link for my Links of London Charm bracelet ![]()
This link makes me smile for two reasons, one because my children helped to pick it out and two because my husband and I have giggled childishly over it in many Links stores because of its likeness to another kind of lipstick…….

I’ve also taken some time this morning to think about poor Jade Goody who lost her fight with cancer this Mothering Sunday. I’ve read some very callous and blithe tweets on the subject this morning which I find totally unnecessary. I think about everyone I hear who loses their brave battle with this disease, and while I recognise that it is true that not everyone has a voice, Jade is the one I heard about today and I’m offering out my sincere condolences to her boys & mother in particular, and the wider family circle. God bless xx

I think you're spot on about Jade – let's not forget the thousands of others battling cancer that we never get to hear about but her's was the story played out so publically.
Her life was one big public circus but there was obviously an audience for it otherwise the likes of Living TV and OK magazine wouldn't have been paying her large amounts of money! At the end, it was all about her sons, the money was no good to her at that stage and I don't think you can ever put someone down for wanting to make sure their children are looked after financially.
I'm very sad to hear that she lost her battle this morning – it was all so quick. Only 6 months ago she was diagnosed. It really makes you stop and think it could be you or one of your loved ones. I actually had a letter yesterday to say my last smear was normal. What timing.
If Jade's death helps to lower the age of routine smears to save even one young life then that will be awesome.
Love your charm bracelet – I've seen those and they are super cute!

aaw love that charm, always spy it when i'm in the store.
I am with you on Jade Goody. It is so sad just as it is for everyone else who suffers such a terrible illness. I admire her for dealing with her illness so publicly .. she was always going to get the attention anyway so why not mediate and control the media in such a trying time. Not only has she been able to secure financial stability for her 2 young boys but she has thrown the taboo subject of smear tests into the limelight and highlighted the importance of such an examination. I truly believe her plight will go on to benefit thousands of young women.
Arlene you are a lucky lady- but I think you know that anyway
and obviously a very good mother enjoy what you have its very beautiful….
Jade- no matter what anyone thought of her, it makes me sad the disrespect people have shown her. Why is it people cannot be humble and gracious enought to think something nice at this time. What you said is so true and isnt it all so poignant she died on mothering Sunday.
Sometimes I just dont get people with nasty attitudes it would make me angry only I realise we must let it go otherwise we just end up as small minded and horrid as they are- they are the sad ones… xx
