Some of you were asking on Twitter what I got while out on Tuesday doing birthday shopping, I’m always a bit reluctant to do the whole “haul” thing as I don’t want anyone to think I’m boasting, but I know myself how much I love seeing what other people buy.
Please bear in mind though that birthday money was used to purchase everything, I only have a Saturday job and would never normally spend this much on cosmetics etc. It’s so much easier to spend other peoples money :)

So with all my excuses for my extravagance out of the way… voila!

Clothing, two empire style tops (perfect for hiding tummy and accentuating the boobies), the bow one (<3 bows) is from H & M and the coral one is from Dunnes, I have the coral top also in blue and grey, I’m that type of person, like it? Buy it in all available colours. Just call me Elton…

A pearl and gold effect bow necklace from Miss Selfridge & cute silver bow diamante earrings from Peacocks

A Hello Kitty make-up bag from Claire’s, this is my third? If I see one I just have to buy it, its an illness

The Laura Ashley storage drawer set from WH Smith, this is to hide all my pigments, palettes and Cream Colour Bases in, thanks to Bubblegarm who alerted me to the fact it was reduced ;)

MAC brushes, namely the 136, 187 & 227 and also a refill of Wedge eyeshadow and I picked up Brulé which I have yet to try out. Matt nearly had a coronary when he heard the brush prices, however good brushes really are an investment if you look after them, especially in my line of work

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink, yet to try but always hearing its better than one of my favourites, Fluidline, so going to test that theory out

Chanel Bronze Universel, again bought due to the hype surrounding the product at the moment and the fact that I am STILL searching for my holy grail in regards to bronzer

A refill of my fave solid cleanser Lush Baby Face and a small bottle of the Tea Tree Toner Water which my friend Kelly recommended

Lashes, lashes and lashes…. check out the Miss Eyelure range, I’ve been using these in college and they are foolproof if you’re not so good with the falsies, pre-glued and take 2 secs to apply, super sticky and stay put all night. The little corner ones are amazing and sooo flirty.

Two Faced Shadow Insurance, just to try something different, I’m an UDPP gal when it comes to eyeshadow bases, but I’m always willing to be proved wrong

And finally some Maybelline Volum’ Express Mascara that was recommended by Anne Marie (I think) and a Rimmel brow pencil, cheap and cheerful!

Let me know if you have any experience with the products I picked up, suggestions on use etc

BB's gel inks are terrific and as far as I'm concerned, better than Fluidline – just a much nicer consistency, so they're easier to work with. I've found Fluidline cracks after a while and the BB products don't – or at least the ones I have don't.

I also have the Chanel bronzer and haven't had a chance yet to test – really must right that…

Where do you get the miss eyelure lashes & how much do they cost? They look fab!

I have noticed that with Fluidline it does dry out very quickly, I love it for the first few weeks, after that though it becomes a re-dipping affair in order to get a solid line. So very excited to hear your BB thoughts!

In regards to the Chanel, I have literally looked at it since Wed morning and thought how much of a shame it'd be to stick my brush in and make a big unsightly hole in it……

Oh man that makes me want to go out and flex my plastic!!! Great haul!

Yip twas me who recommended the Maybelline – Hope it works better for you than the loreal is working for me!!

The bronzer looks a fab colour. Dying to hear what you think of the #187 – I have a regular mac foundation brush and dont know if I should splash out – the reviews are amazing!

I have that Hello Kitty bag! Spied it a few weeks back and had to have it. I also think it's much nicer than the MAC 'voodoo' Hello Kitty bags!

I also have the BB gel eyeliner in black and chocolate brown too. I much prefer them to Fluidlines – I think they glide on more smoother and have much better opacity (is that a word?!).

I also bulk bought those Eyelure corner lashes after I tried one pair on the off chance. I love them – they're so subtle yet, as you say, flirty! I use my Duo with them for added security though, as I have a fear of falsies in my soup.

I have both UDPP and the Too Faced. I like them both, though I prefer TOO faced overall as you can get all the product out without sawing the bottle in half and it's more hygienic as you can squeeze out what you need. I prefer the Too Faced with pigment, Dazzle Dust etc as it feels a bit 'stickier' to me. Could be imagining it though ;-)

I used to have the Bronze Universelle as part of a summer bronzing quad, but I didn't really get on with the texture. My fave bronzer (and I'm MAC NC15/Colorstay Ivory) is the palest Bobbi Brown one. No hint of glitter or shimmer, goes on lightly and smoothly but buildable and it lasts forever. I've heard good things about the palest Guerlain one too.

Yay! Great minds, anything Hello Kitty is incredibly cute in my mind :)

I think if opacity isn't a word then it goddam well should be! Sounds fab, I'm very excited that the "opacity" is better than fluidline :) Have been make-up free since Wednesday (I take these wee breathers now and again) but have work out in the real word tomorrow and a face is required in order to avoid scaring young children. I'll be applying it then and let you know my thoughts!

Your opinion on Two Faced is promising too, UDPP isn't enough as a base alone for pigments etc I find, I tend to use Painterly Paint Pot or Cream Colour Bases..

That Bobbi Brown bronzer sounds interesting, I'm gonna give the Chanel a real whirl first though, I have too many half used products lying about the place *hangs head in shame* xx

Tell me about it! Sometimes I can't work out if it's all for the love of make-up or the love of shopping that my slap's taking over the bedroom! You can't beat that thrill of having something 'new' to try out though, can you? Whether it's Chanel or Collection 2000, I'm always on the lookout for the next thing I 'need'!

BTW after your tip off about the Hello Kitty preview on the MAC site last week, I may have bought the Pink Fish TLC… and Tippy… and the Lucky Tom palette. I mentally drew the line there. Then I decided I just had to pick up the 'Moon River' Grand Duo yesterday. Hope my husband won't mind beans on toast for the rest of the month :-)

Beans on toast are highly under-rated ;)

Sounds like you've done some fab shopping!!! Will have to get down to MAC next week and check out these Grand Duo's! xx
