Just before Christmas I picked up a couple of fake tanning products that were reduced in Boots (original post here), I’ve now had a chance to try all 3 of them and the firm winner for me is the Quick Dry Foam.

For some reason my little branch of Boots had this on clearance for £2.87, however it is still full price in the larger Boots in Belfast and online at £11.75 so all a bit odd, in hindsight I do wish I had bought a few more! Typical :)

I like to wear vinyl gloves and apply fake tan with my hands rather than a mitt or sponge, just a personal preference as it cuts out the middle man which I think wastes product and makes it all a bit more awkward.

This is colourless which initially always panics me, purely because it makes it more difficult to see where and how much you have applied, but as the “foam” is more of a water consistency I just make sure the whole arm/ leg/ chest area is glistening wet and I know I’m cooking on gas :)

It does dry super quick but without feeling tight or drying to the skin, smell is minimal and a little goes a long way. Colour develops over a few hours.

This is a before pic, taken 2.20pm

And just before I went to bed that night, approx 9 hours later….

Even at the full price I will definitely be re-purchasing this, I think it gives a fab even colour for half the cost of the likes of St Tropez & He-Shi, both of which I love but are much messier applications for me… think mud wrestler….. :)

Why don’t you give it a try xox

I think NO 7 was the first fake tan I ever tried but when I saw it on special in Boots a few wks ago I was broght back to the unholy stink it gave off and reminded of the "special" nightwear I used to have to wear with the tinted stuff so my bedsheets didnt get stained (think ex boyfriends once white t-shirt, now a grubby grey with brown patches).

Does it still stink real bad??

LOL, the foam is honestly not a bad smell at all, the No7 Gradual Tan Moisturiser is a whole other kettle of fish, literally. It reeks, you smell like a mouldlt book of digestives with that baby on! xox

Might give it a lash so! I actually have this California Tan spray that is meant to neutralise the smell of the tan but when I go to the bother of applying tan I dont want something to dilute the colour so I usually grin and bear the smell!

I judge it by the other half, his sense of smell is pretty terrible, so if he says it smells, it truly honks :)

Interesting you tried this one…it is the only tanner I have ever been able to use on my super pale skin without looking orange!

That can be a problem, my fellow ghostly skinned friend… I tend to rotate between He-Shi (goes on coloured) and St Tropez (again the tinted lotion) but I think its too severe, you know you've got it wrong when friends say "Oh I love your fake tan" lol its meant to be a subtle change right? lol

Besides the fact I can't afford any of those products at the moment. xo
