I am feeling like a very lucky girl, my Dad’s other half lives in Arizona and therefore I have quarterly access to Sephora/ Ulta. So I sent Dad over before Christmas armed with a little list and he did me very proud.
I got 3 more NYX Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencils, these are amazing, so soft on the lid, creamy and blendable. Excellent bases for pigments. He picked me up Milk, French Fries & Gold.
The only one I had specifically asked for was Milk as it is always out of stock in online stores, but the other two are gorgeous. I’d probably never have picked them myself though, swatches on the NYX site are terrible, but I’m glad Dad did!
The icing on the cake though was the gift of Make-Up Forever HD Foundation in Shade 117!
To say I’m exciting about trialing this is an understatement. The only reviews I have read on this foundation are the ones on the Sephora site, in order to find my shade, but I know this is a lot of people’s Holy Grail Foundation.
Will it be mine???
I have purposefully avoided any Youtube, blog reviews on it as I really want to be as impartial as possible, and I think where hype surrounds a product as much as this one got in 2008, people either go crazy for it, or feel the need to rubbish it to go against the masses.
I’ll keep you posted xox

Come and have a look at my site, chat soon Avril x
Hi there, thanks for subscribing – omg didn't know space nk did nars too!! Brown Thomas in Dublin is the only other shop in Ireland that do it and they're not much better stock wise!! The Nars website only ships to uk addresses! Am going to New York at the end of the month so will have to stock up there! Thanks for the tips on how to use the barry m sounds fab they aren't as pigmented as they should be when you use them dry!!
No problem, definitely helps when we all share tips!
Hope you have fun in New York, I love it there, but watch any major splurging on NARS, the exchange rate at the moment means you pay about £17 an eye shadow, so its definitely cheaper to buy it here, but if its colours you haven't been able to get a few quid won't make a difference I'm sure! Do you have Twitter?? I'm @dressjunkie on there xo
coveting those NYX pencils something rotten!!
But have largely decided to be a good girl make-up wise and no spending till the new Mac HK comes out which is months away but my finances are absolutely dire at the moment and all the make-up in the world wont appease me if I've had no holiday at the end of the year.
man its going to be hard!!!!! I will probably want to kill myself within a week!
I'm with you on that, I have plenty of things I haven't even tested yet, enough to keep me going to the summer at least!
I will never stop "wanting" or coveting other bits and pieces but HK will be my only indulgence. We need to seriously tighten our belts, its just not worth the stressing about money.
Yeah financially my years of devil may care attitude is catching up with me and its got to the point now where all the pretty dresses and eye shadow palettes under the sun wont bring the sleep when I'm lying awake freaking about bills. My psychology about money is so messed up!!!
Still though we have to have our HK splurge!
